Hey Reader, Jure here!

Today, I'm eager to share a personal story about how Mojca and I have been successfully avoiding burnout. Over the past year, I've been all in on our business, working harder than ever. Yet, I feel more energized and excited about the future than ever. Working at such a high pace got me thinking about how sustainable it is in the long run. One thing that's been a game-changer for me is ensuring I take at least one day off each week.

When I say "off," I don't mean the usual lazy day. I still do some work, exercise, and keep my mind and body active. Many people spend their "off" days procrastinating, scrolling through social media, or binge-watching shows. Your body might be resting, but your mind isn't getting the necessary break. We weren't that different in the past - we spent our weekends glued to the TV, munching on junk food, paving the way to a definitive burnout. It wasn't the hard work that did it, but the lack of meaningful rest and work on myself.

About ten months ago, I decided to switch things up. Our ideal Saturday kicks off at 6 am (same as the other six days) with a short walk with our dog, baking croissants, and brewing some coffee. We watch an episode of a series during breakfast, then dive into a good book for an hour or two. After that, we each get into our creative zones—Mojca with watercolor painting and me with writing or working on projects I'm passionate about. This time is golden because focusing on side projects during the week is tough.

Exercise is a big part of our routine, too. We both do a 45-minute zone 2 indoor cycling session, then hit the sauna for 3x15 minutes. We turn the sauna up high so that there is a bit of mental work needed to get through each session, but afterward, we're soft as jelly, and worries are flushed out of our minds just like sweat is from our bodies.

Afterward, we prepare lunch, often grilling outside if the weather's nice. We take the dog for another walk, chat about the past week, and plan for the future. This active day, filled with reading, creativity, and exercise, is the opposite of our old routine of lounging and overeating. It realigns and relaxes body and mind, allowing deep meditation and rejuvenation.

Sundays are different. We do some more work and still exercise, but skip the sauna. We stick to our routine of waking up at 6 am, eating healthy, and planning the week. I've never worked so hard or felt so good physically. This routine keeps me energized and excited for what's next.

What about you? What's your perfect off day? What are the activities that fill you up with energy and get you ready for the week ahead? Let me know (There are still just over 100 of you on this list, so I'll reply to every single one!).

Stay committed,

Mojca & Jure
